Congratulations Maxine!

Please share in our celebration of author Maxine Hong-Kingston’s National Medal of Arts Award today, with President Obama. Noon.

Maxine has been a part of the Rose of No-Man’s Land show and the that album will be released this Fall. One of the reasons I wanted to work with Maxine is that she has facilitated a creative writing workshop for veterans to tell their stories, for many years.
Congratulations Maxine!!!

Freight and Salvage Tonight

Please join us for an evening of lush vocals, vintage stories, and traditional music!

Nobody I know-and I mean nobody-has covered more ground and made more friends and sung more songs than the fellow you’re about to meet right now.  He’s got a song and a friend for every mile behind him.  Say hello to my good buddy, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott.”

~Johnny Cash, The Johnny Cash Television Show, 1969

“The beauty, sorrow and complexity of life are explored in a simple and straightforward way by (Nell & Jim) two people singing harmony with one guitar, hearkening back to the days when the Carter family first came out of the hills of Virginia.” ~American Songwriter
